AMS - Alarm Message System

Pre-Installation Requirements

  • Java Developer Kit (JDK) 1.5.x
  • 2 instances of ActiveMQ 4.1.1
  • Apache Derby or greater

List of headless AMS applications

Filter Manager

The Filter Manager compares the content of an incoming message with the user defined filters. If there is a match, the message is forwarded to the Distributor.

The Distributor creates the text message for the connectors by using the information of the alarm message and the filter settings. The new message is sent to the connector. Like the Filter Manger it uses a local database.

Message Minder

The Message Minder reduces a message storm that is created when a device sends cascading alarm messages.

JMS Connector

Sends the alarm message to a new topic.

SMS Connector

Sends the alarm message via SMS to the user.

E-Mail Connector

Sends the alarm message via e-mail to the user.

Voicemail Connector

Making a telephone call to the user to deliver the alarm message.

What is a connector?

A connector is responsible for sending the user defined alarm message to the user via SMS, e-mail, voicemail etc. The connector is the link between the AMS and the device that is used for sending.
